Published on February 19, 2021

Join Y4Y on MARCH 11th for a conversation with speakers, who are part of the heritage, culture and arts sectors from different regions across Québec to discuss how their works have reflected their communities' sense of belonging.

The list of speakers includes:

Latesha Fequet, the Lower North Shore speaker. Latesha works for the Coasters Association Inc. as a Place Aux Jeunes Migration Agent on the Lower North Shore. As a proud resident of her region, Latesha’s role is to link youth from outside of the Lower North Shore to job opportunities within her region and support them throughout the moving and settling process. Latesha will be sharing the impact the community has made on her life and what belonging means in her region. She looks forward to sharing her sense of belonging at the upcoming forum.

Tom Eden, the Gaspé speaker. Tom is a writer, speaker, and podcaster, who has worked on a number of regional heritage projects over the years. He is particularly interested in military history, served as director of the Bay Chaleur Military Museum, and pursued post-graduate studies in history at Columbia University.

Greg Graham, the Outaouais speaker. Greg is the Campus Manager of the Cégep Heritage Pontiac Campus in the Outaouais region. He is involved in several community initiatives such as the Pontiac Community Players.

Susanna Tang, the Quebec City speaker. Susanna is a community builder and educator. Her passion is helping others succeed at achieving their goals. She has bachelor degrees in both psychology and business and a graduate degree in teaching. At Voice of English-speaking Quebec she supports the employability of youth by producing a careers podcast, promoting the services of the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi centres and overseeing a youth-to-youth mentoring project.

Miriam Cummings, the Montreal speaker. Miriam is a Montréal-based theatre artist and co-founder of Hopegrown Productions. With Hopegrown, she has workshopped and performed 4 new plays by Montréal playwrights, which have toured within Canada and internationally. In 2019, Miriam created and performed, The One, which was developed with support from Playwrights' Workshop Montréal. Miriam now trains with the Moving Voice Institute. She also teaches acting and devising with a practice rooted in the belief that the actor’s skills of presence, curiosity and creativity are accessible to all humans who want to learn them. Working with emerging artists to develop a strong personal creative practice and vocabulary brings Miriam great joy.
